John Platt, a Revolutionary veteran born in York Co.,PA, of German descent, was an early pioneer of neighboring Cambria County. Early Church records refer to him as John Blatt, apparently because of the German pronunciation of his name. His brother Joseph moved farther west (which certainly could be Indiana Co.) and was lost track of, though John is reported as saying of his brother in 1848 that he was "long since dead."
