    3. Amen!! If we all email everything that we thought someone may want or like to see, we would be locked..same as SPAM. Hopefully, this was a one time event and will not be repeated. Bill practico@juno.com wrote: This does not bode well. I have received over 40 emails from you this morning; most of them were obituaries. Why are you doing this? It is a form of genealogical spam! I am interested in one specific early family in Indiana County, that of Robert Morrison. Why must I wade through all these unrelated obituaries?. William T. 3. The reason for the sudden increase in emails from the mailing lists is that a server was down since Nov. 5 so the mail was piling up. As far as the obit listings, if you notice the "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list" at the top, this means it was posted on the Rootsweb message board. It's my understanding that the list administrator decides whether or not to gateway messages from the Rootsweb message board or not to. And if you want to reply to the query that was gatewayed, you need to post it on Rootsweb message board, since the person posting may not subscribe to the mailing list. When I don't want all the emails from a mailing list, instead of subscribing I will just periodically search through the archives of that list.
