    1. Re: [PA INDIANA] Charles Gibson of Westmoreland Co.
    2. Sorry 'bout not replying sooner . . . Kathy and I have been under the weather last couple of weeks, we think she had the swine flu. I really have had much genealogy going on. Seems like the last few years there has been nothing. Kathy is still plugging away at her family's history, and is still compiling data for book about Frank Gonner. We spent two weeks in Colorado, visiting her father in Denver, and research in Durango. We were able to view bank records that went back to 1882! We also spent a lot of time at the Center of SouthWest Studies too. Kathy was also a guest speaker at a little gathering in Marvel. The locals sure do love their histories. With having 40 years with GM, I really wasn't concerned about losing my job, but I was laid off for part of the summer. That was great! Almost hated going back. It was a little taste of retirement. But now I guess GM is better, and I'm sure my job and retirement will be secure in the future. We interred my parents last year. My dad was cremated in 2002, and my mom in 2007, but it wasn't until the fall of 2008, that my sister found a place to lay them to rest. It was a very nice ceremony. The VFW sent out seven veterans, who did a 21 gun salute for my father. He was a Captain in the Army Air Corps during WWII. We also had a bagpiper play. At the end we had him play a fitting tune at the end, and then we would start to walk away while still playing. Then he changed into a little livelier tune and he played on as his pipes slowly faded away in the distance. Aye, it brought a tear to my eye. adios, -Gary
