Some time since it was announced that a large fortune had been left the Palmers in this county by a brother who had died in the west. The matter has been investigated, but the fortune did not show up. The brother was traced to a point in one of the Pacific States, where he was engaged in the liquor business, but he left there 16 years ago and has not been heard of since.
