There were 13 children in the family. Parents were James McGuire and Anna Mary Kunkle. He was born in 1787 and died in 1858. My family thought he was born in Ireland but have seen him listed as born in Allegheny County. Have not found his father. Linda PS--Sister Jane married William Lydick. Obituary from the Indiana Progress (Newspaper)dated September 9, 1891 McGUIRE- September 2, 1891 at his residence in Blacklick tp.(Township), Levi McGuire, one of the old Indiana county boatmen. Obituary from Indiana County Gazette (Newspaper) dated November 15, 1893 McGUIRE- 11 Nov 1893, Mrs. Jane, widow of William McGuire, of near Cookport, at the age of 78 years. Cannot locate any obit in 1858 for any McGuire in Indiana County newspapers. 1883, there is a pension file for a Samuel MAGUIRE, of Armstrong County, Oakland, October, 1866. File number 49347.
