Palmer receivced rifle bullet in hip when woman found him with fourteen year old Lizzie Hill - Tragedy occurred at the Palmer home Sunday evening - A revolting tragedy occurred at Blacklick on Sunday evening when Charles Palmer, aged about 35 years, was shot in the back with a rifle in the hands of his wife, Emma Palmer, when, it is alleged, she discovered him in the act of criminal intimacy with Lizzie Hill, a 14-year-old girl residing near Blacklick. The shooting occurred about seven o'clock at the Palmer Home. Dr. Healey, of Blacklick, was summoned and fount that the ball had entered the hip and lodged near the spine. Palmer is in a serious condidtion. Palmer is a platerer, He has lived in Blacklick with the woman who did the shooting four or five years. Her maiden name was Emma Brink. Lizzie Hill, the young girl in the case, is a daughter of Levi Hill, and lives near Blacklick. She is said to be about 14 years of age. It is alleged that she visited the Palmer home several time to see Mrs. Palmer. She is said to have spent Sunday afternoon there and it is alleged that during a temporary absence of Mrs. Palmer, the man induced Lizzie *** bed room with him. Entering *** room later Mrs. Palmer is alleged to have found the man and girl in an incriminating position. Securing a 38 calibre rifle from another room, she alleged to have shot Palmer in the back before her presence in the room was known to either the man or girl. Palmer's condition was reported as more serious last night, but it is believed that he will recover if complications do not develope.
