this was in todays record-courier LUTHER L LYDIC JR. Luther L lydic jr. 72 of Shalersville died saturday july 24, 2004 at akron city hospital. He was born may 26,1932 in clearfield, pa to luther and cleora (bartlebaugh) lydic. mr. lydic has lived in the mantua-shalersville area most of his life, was a us army veteran and had owned and operated Lou's transmission in garretsville. Survivors include his mother Cleora Miller of eastlake, wife Marjorie Lydic, daughters tammy reddick and vincie swigert both of mantua, son larry lydic of mantua, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brother frank miller of fl. and sisters bernice shippie of eastlake and mary pierce of clearfield pa. precedded in death by wife rose lydic on 1989. there will be no calling hours, a memorial service will be held at 5:00 tuesday, july 27,2004 at the streetsboro american legion #685. arrangements by shorts funeral homeravena chapel. private burial will take place at riverside cemetery in shalersville at a later date. in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the portage county hospice.
