I have read with interest the posts on Julia Gilhuyser (Gilhousen). My research also unearthed Julia's first two children, Harry and Arthur. Harry was probably the child of Harry Isenberg, but it is doubtful that he and Julia ever married. In some census data Harry is listed with the surname Benson, the married name of Julia's sister, which is the name he used as an adult. Arthur was the child of Julia and David Schrecenghost. Arthur died unmarried in WWI and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery. I do not know if Julia and David ever married, but it does not appear to be so. Julia went on to have a third child, Jesse Spangler. I have not been able to determine the father's first name. Jesse lived with Harry and Harry's family in Pittsburgh in later years. I do not know if he ever married. Around 1910 Julia married Lewis Blair (known as Blair) Kelly. This was the second marriage for Blair, whose first wife, Mabel Keck, died after bearing three children. I do not know what became of these children. Blair and Julia went on to have more children. Blair died in 1946. Julia died in 1949. Blair was living alone at the time of his death. I have more details on the above information, if anyone is interested. Kathy

Thank you for posting your note to the Indiana County list, to which I only today subscribed. As Director of our fledgling family association, I have a vested interest in tracking down this "new" line of probable Gilhousen/Gilhuyser descendants, and documenting their connection to the "main line" of our family. On a personal level, I must admit, I have become utterly fascinated. I would greatly appreciating receiving whatever you wish to offer regarding Julia, her children, and the men who fathered them. If and when I am able to find just where this particular Indiana County Gilhousen family fits into our family tree, I will be happy to provide you with the details of the Gilhousen ancestry of this family... I appear to have an uphill road on that one, though. Regards, John-Mark+ ----- The Rev.
