    3. Actually, you are correct and it shouldn't be posted in this case. I haven't tried "Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness" in many years (I used to be a volunteer but have moved to much). This is because of the guidelines. There is only one individual listed for Indiana Co. and he does lookups and copying and is only "Limited" to one per month (Though he could do more) and they have to be "specific" requests" There are also many unique and extremely nice individuals on the Indiana County Page that do lookups that I have corresponded with over nearly 8 or 9 years, Connie Mayo and Vernon Cook just to mention a few and over the years they have helped me quite a few times. What I would like is much more extensive. There are no "researchers" available in the area that I know of ( and although I've always volunteered to pay - I don't want to pay the exorbitant rate of 30-40 per hour charged by some).. I'd like to find someone who could do 8-10 hours of PURE RESEARCH a month over 3 or 4 months as time permits. Sometimes, I believe that we are in a "CATCH 22" - We all need some real research done at some point in time, but we all wait around until we can do it ourselves, because you can't find anyone to spend the time, and then you can't do it because you live over a thousand miles away. What we really need "if permitted on the pages" is not just a group of LOOKUP individuals on the County Pages, but also a Page of people who whould like to do some research a couple hours a week. NOT PROFESSIONAL GENEALOGISTS, just those who like doing it and want to make a few extra dollars doing general research - They could either do it or not depending on their time and schedules....... they do any SCAMS and they are noted as such and taken off the pages. I have my own group of individals around the country (about 20 of us) that work with each other. Regardless of the surnames or relationships, if I ever need any research done where they are, all that I have to do is ask and Visa Versa (VISA??) - but nobody in my Primary area - Indiana, Cambria and Surrounding counties TJ Shumaker http://www.hitchhikers-guide.com/boring/index.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, April 16, 2007 8:17 AM Subject: [PAINDIAN] This person is NOT a Genealogist looking for help, they are a SCAM! > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: geneman1 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.indiana/6263.1.2.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > TJ, > > You of all people should know better.
