ELSIE STATES, 78, Rossiter RD 1, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1970, in the Clearfield Hospital. Born June 17, 1892, in Banks Twp., Indiana County, she was a daughter of James and Julie Sherman Bennett. She was married to Paul States, who preceded her in death. Mrs. States was a member of the Smithport Wesleyan Methodist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Banks Twp. Surviving are four sons: Dale, Denver, Colo.; Charles, Youngstown, Ohio; Ronald, Meadville; James McMillen, Flinton; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Friends are being received in the Pifer Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, where services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Beers, officiating.
