I learned from the grand daughter of dale states that leroy and elsie bennett states are the children of james and julia sherman bennett.Growing up I never heard of an uncle of my father named joseph. But since i started my research I did find a reference to to a james bennett born to james and julia bennett along with leroy and elsie. I plan to call dale states the cousin of my father soon and find out. but getting back to my original question i was looking for the parents of james w bennett who was married to julia sherman. I believe them to be joseph bennett 1827 to 1855 and elizabeth linkafelt.now in reference to your gustion of joseph bennett being the son of james and julia bennett i went to the 1880 census which listed james g bennett born to james and julia bennett in 1879. i was wondering the same thing my self since i never heard of him before my research started.
