My Simpsons were in Indiana County very early - as a matter of fact - they were there before it was Indiana County. They were from Westmoreland Co. Here is what I have on them: These are all siblings - probably children of James Simpson b. ca 1730: Andrew Simpson ca 1752 - Andrew married Sarah Lowrey. He was killed by the Indians during the Rev. War (1777). His death panicked the settlers and many of them fled back towards Cumberland Co. He had only child - Agnes Simpson who married Robert Allison Thomas Simpson - died unmarried Agnes or Nancy Simpson (ca 1755) -m. Samuel Dickson or Dixon. James Simpson (ca 1758) m. Hannah White and had these children that lived in Indiana County: Jane, Andrew, Martha, Mary, Thomas, Elizabeth, Hannah, Margaret, Sarah, James and Agnes. Linda - Do you have a Martha Evaline Simpson(Simson) b. 29 July 1834 d. 1919 Altoona, Blair County, PA who married Isaiah White b. 25 June 1829 d. 12 May 1864 and after he died in the Civil War, she married a George Barton (no info)?
