Howard M. RAGER (1877-1913) was son of George Alexander RAGER (1854-1908) & Mary Ann RIPPLE (1846-1927): GEORGE A. RAGER DEAD (handwritten date: 11 March, 1908) Morrellville Resident Expired on Stone Street in Fifty-Third Year. George Alexander Rager, aged fifty-three years, eleven months and twenty days, died at 6 o'clock this morning at the Rager home, No. 305 Stone Street, Twentieth Ward, where he had been confined to his room for some time with pneumonia and heart trouble, which caused his death. Mr. Rager had for many years been an employee of the Cambria steelwork [last word unclear] The deceased was born in Jackson Township, this county on March 21, 1854, and was a brother of Benjamin and Michael Rager, Mrs. Emma Marsh, and Mrs. Tillie Simmons, still living in Jackson Township, Mrs. Margaret Padghan of Iowa and Mrs. Sarah Edminston of West Taylor Township. George A. Rager spent his boyhood days in Jackson Township. He and Mary Ann Ripple, of Richland Township, were married about thirty years ago and they have been living in Morrellville for the past twenty-one years. Besides his wife, brothers and sisters, the deceased is survived by seven sons and a daughter as follows: Raymond O. of Strayer Street, Morrellville, Howard M. also of Strayer Street; Ira A. of Stone Street; Vincent T. of Spring Street, Lemon G., Irvin E., Eva M. and Walter Leroy at home. The funeral will take place on Friday or Saturday afternoon. Services will be conducted by the Rev. N.M. Miller in the Fairfield Avenue United Evangelical Church and the remains will be laid to rest in Grand-View Cemetery.
