Hello List: I am hoping someone can help me locate information on my great grandmother, Elizabeth Hammond Rhodes. She died January 27, 1864. I don't know if there could be a newspaper item in that time frame or not; I don't think there were obituaries then. I would like to know where she was buried. I believe the family was Presbyterian; her husband was Samuel Rhodes and she was survived by 8 children, many of them quite young. After her death, the family went to Illinois and ultimately Samuel and three of his children died in Sedgwick County, Kansas. I know that Samuel was a merchant who failed in his business in Indiana. Can anyone give me any information or clues to pursue on this family? Edna
