YES! YES! This is my great aunt bertha....Id like to thank you and PGP so much for helping me to finally find out what happened to her. the 1906 article may also be her because she was married first to a mr. wolfe and had a son named robert who was about 2 in the 1920 census...it also notes that she was a widow by then. Your info also puts to rest my theory of her "adopting" my grandmother's baby boy who was the product of an extra-marital affair with a man by the name of Joe Snyder who was also from indiana, pa. The whole event was deemed a scandal according to my great aunt mary hurd lydick. The baby was born sometime between 1928 & 1929. I always thought that she took in the baby for her sister and raised him but her obituary has only 1 son listed so that theory is squashed. I have checked the cemetary listings in treasures of the past and the other indiana, pa sites but she isn't listed which was brick wall i've been hitting for the longest time,,,her younger sist! er Huldah Holmes and her mother Ida McCullough Holmes aren't listed either. The both of them died in 1910. I know that Huldah is buried there also so I'm assuming that there is some sort of family plot that is unreadable or just omitted for some reason. Again, thanks so much for your help and if you find out anything else i'd love to hear. Linda Lydick Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
