According to Pennsylvania Line Conemaugh was taken from Armstrong Twp Indiana Co 1803 or 1807 and Armstrong formed 1784 or 1785. I believe that it was part of Derry twp, Westmoreland Co which was formed in 1775 from Fairfield Twp which was formed in 1773. This is, of course, if you are considering Conemaugh twp in Indiana Co. There is also a Conemaugh Twp in Cambria Co. Looking at Indiana Co, Conemaugh Twp was a new pruchase in 1768. One map shows it as 'unsettled lands later erected into counties whose parentage is traceable to lancaster Co which was erected in 1729. In 1750 it became part of Cumberland Co and in 1771 part of Bedford Co in 1773 part of Westmoreland and 1803 became part of Indiana Co You would probably have to contact each of the earlier counties to find out what twp it was a part of. Possibly their websites would give you an answer to that. Actually there were very few white people, as to the others being Indian, in the Conemaugh area until about 1750. There are Indiana Co histories on line which might help you in this as well.
