Patricia L. Progelhof Date of Death: 06/29/2007 Patricia Lea Wolfe Kodman Progelhof, of Wilmington, died Friday, June 29, 2007, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center from Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis. She was so strong and courageous throughout her illness. Patricia was born January 29th, 1934 in Starford, PA, daughter of the late Vernon Andrew Wolfe and Mary Maude Barr Wolfe Sasala. A brother, Vernon,”Bud” Wolfe, and a sister, Barbara Ann Meyers, preceded her in death. Pat graduated Valedictorian from Green Township High School, Commodore, PA. She worked for several companies in the Indiana, PA area. She married and had 5 wonderful children. After moving to Columbia, SC from Cleveland, OH, she worked in a bank and obtained a position as a Human Resource Consultant for the University of South Carolina where she worked for 11 years. She married Professor Richard in September 1990 at the Faculty House of USC. The result was the addition of two more wonderful children. They later moved to Erie, PA. Upon Richard’s retirement they moved to Wilmington. Pat was active in Newcomers and Scene III. She loved playing bridge and Mah Jongg. She was passionate about her gardening and would often say, “One can never have too many plants”. She was kind and generous to all who knew her. She is survived by four daughters, Karen and husband, Dr. George Maxymiv, of Roanoke, VA, Karol Long of Houston, TX, Andrea and husband, Clay Johnson, of State College, PA, and Linda Progelhof of Durham, NC; three sons, Ernest Kodman Jr. of Akron, OH, Steve Kodman and wife, Jennifer, of Columbia, SC, and David Progelhof of Virginia Beach, VA; and a sister, Rene Reese of Cleveland, OH. She had 10 grandchildren whom she adored and loved spending time with; Kristine Campbell and husband, Patrick, (who are expecting Patty’s first great-grandchild in July), Nick Maxymiv and wife, Emily, Mike Maxymiv, Kristopher Long, Kory Long, Lauren Johnson, Travis Johnson, Patrick Kodman, Thomas Kodman and Drew Kodman; and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed! The family would like to thank Dr. Dean Miesel, Dr. Robert Moore, and Dr. Birgit Arb for their love and support during this difficult time. A brief service will be held at 11:30am Monday, July 2, 2007, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10am Monday until the service hour. A reception, to celebrate her life, will follow at 1pm Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, or to the charity of ones’ choice.
