(I'm related to the John Parson mentioned, Anna Jane McCracken was a 2nd marriage for him). The Indiana Progress, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, January 8, 1908, p1: Joseph McCracken, an aged and respected citizen of Grant township, died at the home of his son-in-law, Daniel Smith, of Gipsy, on December 30, at the age of 88 years. He was born in County Derry, Ireland, December 25, 1819, and come to this country when a young man. Seven members of a family of nine children survive him; They are P.J., of Deckers Point; Alex, Gipsy; J.J., Creekside; Lizzie, wife of William Gardner, Glen Campbell; Sarah, wife of Daniel Smith, Gipsy; Ann, wife of John Parsons, Richmond, and Emma, wife of J.A. Love, Creekside. He is also the grandfather of 47 children and great grandfather of 12. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years. Interment was made at Richmond on New Year's, Rev. G.A. Sheets, of Marion Center, conducting the service. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
