Within a few weeks I'll be working on my great grandfather's third family, the John Franklin Moore group who settled in Blairsville. John Franklin Moore was born November 1879 to James B. Moore and his housekeeper (who apparently would not marry him) Sarah Agnes Miller. He married in Cherryhill Tpw., Indiana Co., PA, Jan. 1897, Olive Viola Bowers. They had 8 children who married in Indiana Co., so there are several surnames to be investigated. Family still lives there. My project is to complete as much as possible a volume of obituaries, index them, and archive them. Then I will make a copy of these and send to Chestnut Ridge HS in Westmoreland Co. to complete the other volumes I've sent and plan on sending for the entire Johannes Conrad Mohr family for their library. When this is done, I'll send a copy of the Indiana Co. obits to the Indiana Co. HS that shows interest. It may take a month, but I hope not. I'm not asking for research (although that is always welcome) since I have 6 generations from John Franklin Moore in some lines, but I would like obits that are missing. I will ask for those individually and if anyone needs one from this family, I will share. The first surname I am asking for is SALSGIVER. John Franklin Moore's mother married Henry H. Salsgiver. The 1900 census showed she and John with John's family lived with Henry H. Salsgiver. As far as I know, Sarah had only 1 child, but the census listed 5 born, 3 living.
