Collins who became "lost" to the fog and was forced to land near Hillsdale Wednesday morning, was dissembled at the place of landing and brought on trucks to the Nealor farm south of town, Saturday where it is now being assembled by mechanics Al Kramerer, W. N. Stoneman and Russell Gearhart, stationed at the Bellefonte flying field. It is expected the plane will be ready some time this week and when the work is finished pilot Collins will drive it to Cleveland. The plane is a large Curtis "ship" of the D. H. type and is equipped with head lights on the ends of the lower wings. It has been generally understood that nothing but all metal planes were used in the mail air service but this is not true. There is not one metal plane being used at the present time. A very large plane can be noticed by residents of Indiana flying from the Northeast to the Southwest across Indiana. It appears to have a regular course. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. JAmes Jr is the son of James McNutt & Sally Armitage who lived in Brushvalley. He was born 25 Jul 1806 and died 28 Jul 1843, Margaret was his second wife. After he died Margaret married John Campbell Hemphill 26 Sept 1844. He died 21 Oct 1864. I find Margaret living with her sister in the census records after his death at Armagh, Indiana Co Pa. I also know that at one time she may have lived in Saltsburg as some of her children died there. Her daughter Martha Frances Hemphill b 12 Sept 1857 m ____________ Mitchell and lived at New Florence Pa. I can not make out her husbands first name. These records were taken from the handwritten notes of J.E. McNutt on letter head paper from his tin shop in Confluence Pa. In his notes he writes some info came from a family bible belonging to Samuel Asbury McNutt. We would also love to locate this cherished item as well if for nothing else but to copy the pages for our own records. If any one can help on this it would be greatly appreciated. Jack McNees has be invaluable in getting this info to us and is deeply appreciated. 3. I don't know if this helps you or not, but a lot of times, the place is still a funeral home only under a different name.  If you know the address, you can request the information from the present owners.  I have heard that they pass the information to new owners. COOK CAUGHT - After Twice Escaping Officers of the Law, He is Again in Jail Here - Ellsworth Cook, alias Elias Smith, who escaped from the Indiana county jail in February, and who has baen at large ever since, was arrested at Meyersdale, Somerset county, on Tuesday, November 18. He was brought to Indiana on Thursday by a Johnstown constable. Cook has the distinction of having escaped twice from the officers of the law. He was locked up in the Indiana county jail last December for stealing a cow near Indiana, which he drove to Barnesboro and sold there. He remained in jail until last February, when one day the sheriff's son unlocked the door of the jail to take out a prisoner to help him do some work. While the door was unlocked Cook slipped a wedge into one of the hinges so that it would not close tightly. On the evening of the Republican primary election last March he was arrested at Cookport, During the night Cook made an excuse to leave the house and escaped. He was heard of no more until Sunday November 18, when the postmaster at Berkley's Mills, Somerset county, wrote Sheriff Thompson asking him If there was any reward for the capture of Cook. Another citizen wrote the sheriff a similar letter the same day. Sheriff Thompson thereupon started to Meyersdale to capture Cook and upon reaching Johnstown he telephoned Chief of Police Stump at Meyersdale to arrest his man. Chief Stump at once secured a team and drove to Berkley's Mills, svhere he learned that Cook had hired a team and driven to Salisbury, a distance of six miles. He followed and arrested Cook and was informed that the latter was on his way to Maryland to get married, being in company with another man's wife and having left his own wife behind.
