It is of particular interest in that I had an Uncle Frank M. Fleming b. 1907 d 1979, born on a farm near Sample Run, PA, lived for some time in Dixonville, then moved to Commodore then near by to Lovejoy where he died in 1979. He was married to Delsie [?]. This Frank and Delsie had no children. They did however adopted and raised three cousins of mine, 3 girls: Janet, Phillis and one boy, Harry Styles. His father was Harry Blair Fleming b 1888, d 1976, mother Madge Alberta Holmes b 1890, d 1945. Harry Blair's father was David D. Fleming, Mother Jemima Henry of Clymer, PA. Frank M Fleming had 3 sisters, Cora, Hannah Jemima [my mother], and Bertha, 3 brothers, Harold Blair, Charles W and Hayes Warden Fleming, Sr. There are several facts that I am trying to pin down. Foremost is a confirmation of the last name of my Frank Fleming's wife, Delsie [?]; confirmation of his gr! andfather, David D Fleming, and Jemima Henry; and who is the accentors of David D Fleming? I would really appreciate any help anyone may have on this matter! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. No Reason Known to Have Caused the Rash Act - Was in Good Health and a Prominent Church Worker - While in apparent robust health and without any reason known to the family for committing the rash act, Mrs. Horace Riddle, a well-known woman and prominent church worker of Green township, ended her life early Friday morning by hanging herself in her home near Cookport. After fastening a. long towel securely to a door-knob in one of the rooms upstairs and with the loop over her neck she threw herself over the stair railing, where the dead body, robed in her night gown, was found hanging by her husband. Mr. Riddle arose shortly before six o'clock and went to the barn, and after feeding his stock returned to the house. Supposing that his wife had overslept he went to the stair door to call her w! hen he made the shocking discovery. She had evidently made hurried preparations to end her life as soon as Mr. Riddle left the house, as he was not absent long. County Coroner H. B. Buterbaugh, of town, was notified of the suicide and the same day held an Inquest at the Riddle home, the verdict being that the deceased came to her death by strangulation by a self-administered act. Mrs. Riddle, whose maiden name was Nancy Rebecca Henry, was aged 50 years, and was a daughter of George Henry, who survives, together with her husband. The funeral services were conducted at the Riddle home on Saturday and internment followed in the cemetery at Cookport. News Item - 11 June 1913 - Indiana Weekly Messenger - WOMAN A SUICIDE - Well-known Resident or Green Township Hanged Herself on Friday - No Apparent Reason - Mrs. Nancy Rebecca Riddle, aged about 50 years, wife of Horace Riddle, and one of the best-known residents of Green township, commiited suicide at her home, near Cookport, Friday morning about 6 o'clock. Shortly before this hour Mr. Riddle went to the barn to tend the stock and returned to the house for breakfast. Not finding his wife in the kitchen and presuming that she had overslept he went to the stairs to call her and was horrified to find her hanging over the bannister dead. She had tied a towel to the door-knob of one of the upstairs rooms and swung herself over the banister, death resulting from strangulation. Mrs. Riddle was a great church worker and had been enjoying the best of health and no reason can be assigned for the rash act. Coroner H. B. Buterbaugh was notified of the tragedy and went to Cookport on F! riday afternoon, where he conducted an inquest, the verdict being that Mrs. Riddle had come to her death by strangulation, by a self-administered act . The husband and George Henry, the aged father of the deceased, are prostrated by the tragedy. Funeral services were held at the Riddle home Sabbath afternoon and interment was made in the cemetery at Cookport Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
