    3. My gr-grandparents are buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Cameron's Bottom, Pine Twp. Indiana Co.  There were many Irish buried there in the late 1800s.  Do you think this might be the Irish Bottom cemetery you have heard of?  The cemetery list is on the Treasures of the Past website.  I have visited the cemetery and have the list of the people buried there.  The church is inactive and the records are at the Church of the Ressurection in Clymer. 3. John comes from Johannes or Johan.  In German it was altered to diminutive Johankin or Johnkin, Jankin.  Like "Johnnykins" as a pet name. Jankin became Jackin, Hackin/Haukyn (Basque version is Joachim or Joachin), thus leading to Jack. 1. Re: [PA INDIANA] Strongstown Lutheran Church, Pine Township
    2. Barbara Rich
    3. My Indiana Co ancestors, primarily WILSON and HILL families, but also LONGENECKER and RHOADES, were likely affiliated with the Brush Valley Lutheran Church and/or the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Churches. It is my understanding that the records and Bible from the later were transferred to Brush Valley and that documents related to both were then sent to the Lutheran seminary in Gettysburg, when Brush Valley closed. Haven't had any luck tracking this down. My gggrandparents Samuel Wilson (1825-1904) and Barbara Hill (1827-1868) are buried at the old Strongstown cemetery on Rt. 422, very near the former site of St. Paul's (Other Hill and Rhoades graves are also there.) Am still looking for their marriage record and info about Samuel's Wilson family. I would be most appreciative of any info regarding the above. Many thanks from Barbara Wilson Rich. -----Original Message----- From: paindian-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:paindian-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Craig Cameron Sent: Sunday, January 31, 2010 12:01 PM To: PAINDIAN@rootsweb.com Subject: [PA INDIANA] Strongstown Lutheran Church, Pine Township Would like to know the location of this church and whether it is still standing.  The official name was St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.   Craig J Cameron ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PAINDIAN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
