Hi dj, I amrelated to Ubers who married Clark brothers. Do you have any info on Sarah McOmbs who married a Uber. Thanks, Dude
I am posting the following to the list as many of you probably received help from this most wonderful man in the last few years. Knowing Ernie was truly a pleasure and his enthusiasm for genealogy and his willingness to share was amazing. Ernie had hoped to pursue genealogy with greater passion after his retirement at the end of last year. Sadly, that was not to be but his contributions to others made all of our lives a bit sweeter. May he rest in peace and enjoy the party as he meets all of those ancestors in person. Received from his sister: "Ernie, Rev. Ernest N. Rumbaugh, Jr., passed away today, Friday, January 9, 2004, at 12:13 a.m. in his home with his family. Ernie was very successfully battling cancer of the lungs, lymph nodes and adrenal glands from February to September of 2003, never a pain, chemo with no hair loss, and he looked great. Then, in September, he contracted West Nile Virus. This deadly virus raged from September to November when the cancer again surfaced. Services are being held in Shippensburg, PA. (probably Sunday or Monday) at the Fogelsanger Funeral Home. If you wish to contribute, donations would be appreciated in memory of Ernie to Lung Cancer Research". __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Last year I had several people contact me from the lists about the Native American Ancestor Roster, and my book series mentioned in my signature. I am still collecting Native American Ancestor Roster registrations to appear in Volume III of my book series Who's Looking For Whom In Native American Ancestry. The first volume to concentrate on one state. If you, or anyone you know that is researching Native Ancestors in Pennsylvania and would like to have the added exposure for their research that these books provide. All you have to do is email me for a registration form. About the NATIVE AMERICAN ANCESTORS ROSTER I am not a Genealogist for hire. I do not research anyone's ancestors for them. I only refer researchers to each other and research resources. The roster contains the name of the person doing the research, so I am able to refer researchers to each other in the hopes of reuniting lost relatives. Anyone contacting the Roster about your ancestor will be given your contact information. They will contact you directly for further information. Registration is FREE. But each Ancestors name must be submitted separately. You can make as many copies of the registration form as you need. You can make as many copies as you want and hand them out to other researchers as well. I'm sorry but I cannot accept them via email. I need the signed registration forms on file giving me permission to give out the contact information. All registered Ancestors information, and researchers contact information will be published in upcoming Volumes of "Who's Looking For Whom In Native American Ancestry". When the form is received, I will check the Roster for others researching the same names. If no one has registered as researching the names or a similar surname, I will check other files at my disposal for information. These other files include: Tribal contact addresses. Information on researching specific tribes. List of surnames common to certain tribes. URL for Websites of interest recommended by other researchers in the network. Registering your ancestors ensures you can take full advantage of future referrals. NATIVE AMERICAN ANCESTORS ROSTER REGISTRATION When you request and recieve the Roster Registration form. Please type or print legibly, I cannot be held responsible for any information incorrectly copied from your form. And tell me your family tradition in 250 words or less. Keep a copy of the form for your records. You must send a self addressed stamped envelope if you wish acknowledgment of receipt. Then, Please contact me by mail if any of your contact information (name, address, phone #) changes. Keeping your contact information up to date will allow me to refer those enquiries interested in your ancestor. I am hoping that someone can help me with the Mother of Amelia (Millie) NIEL md Joseph UNCAPHER. In the History of Indiana County, Penn'a published by J. A. Caldwell, it has Millie NIEL md Joseph UNCAPHER and the Father is listed as William NIEL md to Mary CUNNINGHAM. I have also seen on rootsweb, Susan Neff as William's wife. Thanks for your help. Hi, I've been on the list a while and have talked to a few people before. I have an unrelated request. I am from DC and my Grandfather is sick. They live in Latrobe, Pa. Does anyone know the area(near Latrobe) and can recommend a hotel/motel/bed and breakfast that won't require a second mortgage on my house? I don't mind driving a little if that is the case. Thanks, Ryan Washington _________________________________________________________________ Take advantage of our limited-time introductory offer for dial-up Internet access. http://join.msn.com/?page=dept/dialup
Betty, if you know, please post instead of mailing privately. I'd like to know as well. Has anyone ever found a Stephen Adams buried in any Brush Valley area cemeteries?
Hi Ryan, I am from Latrobe and there is only one hotel/motel there. It is the Wingate Inn and have heard is pricy. A few miles west of Latrobe on Rt 30 there is a Holiday Inn Express, Mt View Inn ( could be pricy too) and just past Holiday Inn is a Motel 8 (I think is the name, might be 6 tho) If you would like I could send the phone numbers for you. Then east of Latrobe is Ligonier with a few motels and bed and breakfasts but is also a pricy place. I can't provide any recommendations, but you might want to contact the Chamber of Commerce and see if they have any recommendations. There are also some links to motels on their web site. http://www.2chambers.com/latrobe,_pennsylvania.htm

Thanks to all who provided phone numbers, addresses and other help in locating the Catholic Church in Rossiter. A very pleasant introduction to this list!! Joyce Steffel Chicago, IL
Sorry guys. If Rossiter is in Indiana County, then contact the Diocese of Greensburg. http://www.catholicgbg.org/ The Catholic Diocese of Greensburg, Pennsylvania 723 East Pittsburgh Street • Greensburg, PA 15601 (724) 837-0901 • (724) 837-0857 They should have records somewhere in their files. I just contacted them to see about getting records from St. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church and School in Arcadia, which is no longer in existence, as well as a cemetery map that will show the graves of two of my uncles, who died at birth. Hopefully they'll come through with something.
Hilly Billie- Rossiter, is Canoe Twp., Indiana County... Population -1,000 Vernon

I am looking for someone who knows who Marshall H Black is that is buried in Saltsburg's Edgewood Cemetery. (Buried in 1938). Does anyone have the number of the cemetery caretaker so I can request records. I need an obituary if I can get a burial date. Thanks, Barb Mills
