    3. I'm pretty sure that is exactly the answer, train service. My parents also were married in Wellsburg,WV and they went from Green County PA in 1933. If you don't get any answers, I will give my mom a call and see what she has to say. 3. A lot of people in PA back then eloped to West Virginia. My grandparents were married in Beech Bottom, which I believe was a popular destination. I don't know if it's true, but my mother told me that you had to be 21 in PA to marry without parental consent. <<What possible reasoning would prompt a couple from Blacklick PA and Homer City PA to travel Wellsburg WV in December 1923 to be married?>> Tom

I went to Ancestry.com and they say that there are 2 references in the Indiana Gazette that include Marlin Buggy. The time period would be around 1907 to 1925, ... but most likely in 1919. I am searching for any information, this was my father, he was adopted at about 13 years of age, I know his fathers name, James Buggy, .. but am still trying to pinpoint which James Buggy was his father, there were many. I was hoping that these 2 references might actually have something to do with my Marlin Buggy, but with the way Ancestry tells you that there may be information just to get you to join, I am not so anxious to spend 79 dollars to find out that this has nothing to do with my Father. 3. Hi Bonnie, The two references to Marlin Buggy were in 1953 and 1977. I didn't bother to look them up as the do not fit your time frame. And James Buggy did not bring up anything in Indiana county. 1. [INDIANA] James Brigance born: September 1765 in Pennsylvania; County & Township unknown
    2. Could someone help me with a church, birth or other lookup for the above person or surname. My dilemma is that supposedly he was born in PA but I have no idea where. Other Brigance members were supposedly born around 1740 in PA as well. At that time, there were only 4 counties: Lancaster, Chester, Philadelphia and Bucks. I have searched in Philadelphia and Lancaster but I wonder when the counties split if the information went with another county outside of the Philadelphia area. Thanks!!!!! 3. Sharon - I would be happy to exchange info on this line. I have seen the Andrew Sr. reference, too, but James Sympson was the one who originally bought the property in Westmoreland that Andrew and Thomas inherited. If they were using the Scotch-Irish naming pattern - like a lot of my other families were - it would make more sense for James (the third son) to be named after his father, too. I haven't been able to find a Andrew Sr. that fits with this group - have you? I would be happy to send you anything I have here. I have some information on Mary Simpson Wallace wife of Richard Wallace -descendants of her line have told me that she is the aunt of Andrew, Thomas and James. Hugh, Robert and Solomon all own property (first set of numbers are the number of acres, the rate per acre, and the total value of real estate); all four own horses (second set of numbers--number of horses, value per horse, total value of horses); Hugh and Solomon own cows (third set of numbers--number of cows, value per cow, total value of cows); James and Robert are single men and are assessed at a rate of $100 for that status; Hugh and Solomon are farmers, which had no assessment rate attached to it; the next number is the total value of assessed property, both real estate and occupation assessment; the final number is the amount of taxes owed (same amount to both county and state).
