Am not sure if this can be of much help as I can't ask him, but my father became a citizen in 1937. According to my mother, she said she learned more about the government at that time then she did in school as Dad had to learn not only the Pledge of Allegiance, but the Preamble to the Constitition and other things about the government. It seems to me he was tested on that but don't know if their was a ceremoney of any type?..I will see if I can find out. Evening Telegraph - You ask me for facts concerning Mr. Grover Cleveland's moral character. Since his candidacy is being pushed on the assumption of irreproachable morals, and many are being deceived thereby, I yield to your request. Some weeks since several gentlemen determine to assure themselves of the of the truth or falseness against him. Each pursued inquiry by himself mostly, and all have been forced to the conclusion that his immortalities are oven worse than current report had made them, extending through the entire period of hIs majorIty to the present time. I give you part of the well attested facts and place at your, disposal the names of responsible both Democrats and Republicans who will confirm every item of the count, if called upon. An officer long on the police force declares that he has often seen Mr. Cleveland beastly drunk and lias inindisputable evidence of his habitual immortalities with women. Two respec! tful and influential citizens testify that hearing a great row in a saloon one night they rushed in and found Mr. Cleveland and another lawyer in a terrific light over a lewd woman. Each seized a belligerent and held them fast till they both agreed to keep the peace. They wore both drunk, and had rent and torn each otlies till they were both nearly naked covered with blood. Since Mr. Cleveland was elected to his present office ho readied Buffalo one Saturday night, drove to * noted saloon; was met by three other men; laid in a stock of liquors; repaired to another building; sent out for four lewd women and spent and spent the night and all day, Sunday, with them in debauchery. ...

The acid with the rerdigris in solution he carefully permitted lo run into a tin, and then he drank about four ounces of the deadly poison. From the (effects) of this deadly poison he suffered excruciating agony for some time, but death, which he had so deliberately invited, at last came to his relief.
