    3. Hi Linda: I was going to write you directly but I'm not having a good day so just decided to write the Indiana Site. Thanks for responding. Here is what I have: I have some info from George Liebegott that I am trying to work through and one sheet it has Milton BUTTERBAUGH m. to Sadie Cunningham with 4 children: William M. b 27 Oct 1855 d 9 Feb 1950 Ellsworth Emma m. ? Reed Minnie m. ? Smith daughter m. J. Dunn It shows William M. is buried in Mt. Union Cem at Penn Run. There are no cemeteries in Penn Run and no Mt. Union in Cherryhill Twp but there is a Mt Union in Pine Twp. When I looked there, I found the following: BUTERBAUGH, Albert b 6 Oct 1913 d 9 Oct 1913 E. S. b 15 Jan 1892 d 2 Mar 1918 Kenneth b 7 Oct 1912 d 10 Dec 1912 William H. (infant) d 18 Mar 1915 ? d 10 Oct 1912 ? (wife of E.S.) b 1895 d 1915 William W. b 1889 d 1950 From what is shown, I don't have this family in my database. To me, it looks like E.S. b 1892 and ? b 1895 were husband and wife and the others listed were their children. The William shown is not the William from above but both did die 1950, unless I am wrong. Thanks for asking and hopefully you can shed some light on this. I am busy adding all my BUTERBAUGH info into my computer and am even doing my unmatched material so it is easier to check. At present I have about 2,000 unmatched people I am trying to place. I don't know for sure but it was in existance in the 1870's. It is part of North Huntingdon Township. I hope this helps. Barbara <SNIP>

Surname files are mainly obits and newspaper stuff. Family files are usually research someone else has done DO NOT give them open turf to make copies for you. Make sure you specify exactly what you want and that you want them copied back to back. It's cheaper. And don't forget to specify all variations you want checked.

Also look for Neff, Noff, Nauf, and any other variations without the K. Have you worked backwards in the deeds yet? And the wills. Also, have you checked for a family file at the Historical Society. 1. Re: [INDIANA] Samuel S. Barr
    2. His name was Samuel S. Barr from the record. My ggrandfathers death certificate says it was Samuel Barr and his wife was Isabelle/Isabella McCalister. I have been to the cemetery in Deckers Point, Oakland that is, where they are supposed to be buried. There are no markers. He died in 1897. They are listed in the Stewarts book on Indiana County as charter members of the Presbyterian Church at Deckers Point. I am assuming the Cemetery sits on the church site. It was connected to the Taylorsville Presbyterian Church, I know I shouldn't assume but gotta start somewhere...Thanks for the response. Bill Gibson

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UaB.2ACE/3253.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I guess the situation is far more complicated then I originaly thought. I thought there was one John Knauf. There appear to be 4. First is on the 1840 census, between age 40 and 50. 2nd is on the 1860 census at age 14. 3rd is on the 1870 census at age 59, with a son John age 18. This older John Knauf appears to be the oen on the 1871 map. Of all of these what I was originaly looking for was the relationship of the John Knoff/Knauf of 1840 census to Michael Knoff/Knauf of the 1840 census. I would also be interested in finding out if there was a relationship between the John Knauff/Knauf, age 59, of the 1870 census and Michael Knauf of the 1840, 1850 census. Hope that clarifies things. There may be no one out there who can answer this though. Thanks Dick
