Hello everyone, I have put the three history books for Indiana County PA back online and they are linked from the Indiana County Gen Web's main page. The 1871 Beers Atlas which is also linked from the Indiana County Gen Web's main page is not available at this time, but I will let you know when its link is working again. Please note if you knew the shortcuts before Treasures of the Past went down to these items, they have changed. Jamie, there is indeed several references to Hugh St. Clair in this book. I have copies at home. I am researching all St.Clair and Sinclair families in Western Pennsylvania. I have a FTM Gedcom file on Hugh's descendants, but have not determined who his parents were. It is believed by myself and others searching this line that Hugh was related to James Jamison St. Clair, also of Indiana County, Samuel Sincleer of Westmoreland County, and Arthur St. Clair of Westmoreland County. Hugh, James, and Samuel all came from County Tyrone Ireland of a village named Holy Hill. James Sinclair of Borland Scotland was the first of this family to immigrate to Holy Hill Ireland. Arthur came directly from Scotland via the British Army. Arthur St. Clair was the first land agent (1774) in Western Pennsylvania for the Penn family, and was to recruit settlers to farm the land and protect against the Indians. I think he sent for his own relatives. Arthur St. Clair and James Jamison St. Clair were cousins, their fathers were brothers. They shared the same grandfather, James Merchant Sinclair of Scotland. I will be away this weekend, hosting a Sinclair tent at the Columbus Indiana Highland Games, but will send the info that pertains to Hugh next week. Please provide me your snail mail address off line. There is also a book called "The Hugh St. Clair Story" that is in the Ligonier Pennsylvania Library. Hi Fae, I don't see zippity much any more. I went to school with Dicky Jenkins. We lived on Philadelphia St. in the Old McCall Apartments by the tracks. I saw him for the last time in 7th grade. I never saw him again and was told that he died of lukemia. It may not be the same person but the dates sure match. I couldn't get the obit from the Record Newspaper. Hope to be at Cookport again this year. I'll leave the band at home since they were too loud and not "country." My mind was on them and set up and all so I didn't pay much attention to geneology. Would you like me to bring anything this year? I thought that someone felt left out that year. Let me know if I can print out anything in particular. I have too large of a file to just copy ALL. I would like to know more about Vic's family or Jack or John Hamilton. I never saw Vic. Glenn and I were only a year appart. Haven't seen him for years either. Lots of memories. Thanks for the info.

Hi all---- I just received the Civil War pension records for my gggrandfather Lorenzo D Bigelow and it says he died 23 Feb 1892 in Plumville, PA. The records don't say anything about a wife or family surviving him and I was wondering if anyone was researching this family? I believe he was born abt 1814-5. On the census he is listed as single. So I'm wondering if he was divorced? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you! Arlene

Marcia, When you're going through the 1860's papers, would you mind keeping your eyes open for any mention of James C. McFeatters? (Also spelled McFeaters, McFeeters, occasionally McFetters or McPheeters.) He's my g-g-grandfather and supposedly died in December, 1863 but I'm beginning to wonder if previous family historians have confused him with another James McFeatters, also from Indiana County, who also died at the end of December, 1863. That one was in the Civil War and is buried in Culpepper, Virginia. That one, however, was much too young to have been mine. I am really curious as to what happened to James C. but keep coming up empty. Thanks, Susan McFeatters
