Is there a reference site for Indiana Weekly Messenger obituaries, and if so does anyone on this list have access to it? I have finally found that an obituary was published for Annie (Anna) Devinney Reeger and would love to know what it says if there is some way it can easily be accessed by someone. This is the way it is listed on newspaperarchive.com's site: Annie Devinney Reeger Indiana Weekly Messenger Thursday, July 22, 1920 Indiana, Pennsylvania Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Janice Norman,

The book "Descendants of Hans Ulrich Schleppi" lists at least 4 different spellings for Schleppi: Schleppi, Schlebi, Sleppy, Slippey. The birth date that you list for Alexander matches what I have listed, and the spelling listed in the book for Alexander is "Sleppy". I've researched quite a bit on the net for more information about the Ewings. As far as I have seen, there has not been another Ann Ewing that has married an Abraham Schleppi with any last name variation other than ours. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for actually writing out this story and the source reference. I had first heard about this on an old family pedigree, but all that the note said was "kidnapped with Katie Ewing by indians." So little details have filtered down through my branch of the Schleppi family. The most I have is basic genealogy information on Isabella's family--you're welcome to any information I have if its of interest. Thanks again!
