Amen!! If we all email everything that we thought someone may want or like to see, we would be locked..same as SPAM. Hopefully, this was a one time event and will not be repeated. Bill practico@juno.com wrote: This does not bode well. I have received over 40 emails from you this morning; most of them were obituaries. Why are you doing this? It is a form of genealogical spam! I am interested in one specific early family in Indiana County, that of Robert Morrison. Why must I wade through all these unrelated obituaries?. William T. Hello everyone, I have updated both the Indiana County Gen Web Site and the Indiana County Archives Site. You will see some changes to the Archives as I have been redoing the pages as I have time and new information to add to them, I am deleting one of the columns called filename as I don't feel we need information repeated since I took over the Archives I have changed all the links so that they match the names of the people, places and things that they are to correspond to, so that it is easier to keep track of what we have in information on the site. We have a new category on the Archives for Veterans information and the Census information has expanded as we have received some actual census transcripts for one of the townships in Indiana County, there have been some obits added also. If anyone is wondering about Treasures of the Past it is back up and I hope working as I haven't had a chance to check out the links on the site as uploading it was a major task, when the site went down I was in the middle of an update and I have not finished that update as of yet, but will be working on it and will let you know when it is finished and what is new on the site. Treasures also has a new e-mail address as we lost all e-mail that had been sent prior to August 23rd. The links and e-mail addresses for these web sites are below. Have a nice weekend! C. 1900 from what I can tell so 1900 census only has a few children listed.
Hi Folks, Just wanted to pass along the web page for the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. http://www.hsp.org/ They now have an online catalog. if you click on " find out more here" under Researchers from the home page, you can then search their catalog. I found some interesting items that they have. I typed in the county names and subjects like "Lumber". It helps to decide if it's worth a trip to Philadelphia, and allows you to save time if you find what you want to look for before going there. Marcia Fronk
