    3. Hello everyone, If someone would like to have items such as obits or marriages, etc, etc posted out there so everyone can access them I would be happy to put them on either or both the Indiana County Gen Web and the Indiana County Archives sites but in order for me to do so you have to e-mail and tell me you want them on the sites, without permission from the person submitting I am unable to post them to either of these sites. If you have a lot of information that you would like to share and wouldn't mind having it on either of the Indiana County sites, you can send it to me to be put up and I will go across the e-mail group and let them know that the new stuff is out there, I would even be willing to post what surnames have been added to. You can reach me at the web sites and e-mail addresses below. 1. Re: [INDIANA] Obituarie postings
    2. Houston
    3. The reason for the sudden increase in emails from the mailing lists is that a server was down since Nov. 5 so the mail was piling up. As far as the obit listings, if you notice the "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list" at the top, this means it was posted on the Rootsweb message board. It's my understanding that the list administrator decides whether or not to gateway messages from the Rootsweb message board or not to. And if you want to reply to the query that was gatewayed, you need to post it on Rootsweb message board, since the person posting may not subscribe to the mailing list. When I don't want all the emails from a mailing list, instead of subscribing I will just periodically search through the archives of that list. Hope this is helpful, Marcia Fronk ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Harvey" <butlerbill1@yahoo.com> To: <PAINDIAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 15, 2004 2:39 PM Subject: Re: [INDIANA] Obituaries > Amen!! > > If we all email everything that we thought someone may want or like to see, we would be locked..same as SPAM. > > Hopefully, this was a one time event and will not be repeated. > > Bill > > practico@juno.com wrote: > This does not bode well. 2. Jeannette Sosa
    3. A quick search on Ancestry.com turned up no Thomas Burns as head of household in Westmoreland Co. in the 1790 census. There was, however, a listing in Bedford Co.: Bedford Co. (no township given): Thomas Burns 1 Free White Male 16 or over 0 " " Males under 16 3 " " Females Is this the Thomas Burns who served as a captain in the Revolutionary War and is buried in Bethel Cemetery in Center Township? If so, I do have a rather tenuous connection. 3. I'm not the one who sent the obits, nor did I find any among them for the families I'm researching. However, I do think it was generous of the sender to share this information, since many others on the list undoubtedly will find something useful to them. The sender was quite considerate in putting the surnames in each obit in the subject line so that no "wading" was really necessary. All one needs to do is scan the subject line and delete.
