Hi Nancy - Yes, a Blanche Hall is shown as a freshman in 1916-1917. Her address was RFD#1, Shelocta, Indiana Co., Pa. There is also listed a Loyal F. Hall, 1891 grad., of Butler, Pa., and Virginia Hall, Junior, 311 Seventh Ave., Carnegie, Pa. Bill
Have tried before and hope now to find family of Harry E Allison. I was reading Carla's update and decide to look at the link for Stewart's History of Indiana since it has an index. Just saw the name and found Harry. We were told by a 90 years old family member that my great grandmother Savannah had a child name Harry Allison. We never knew about Harry. Savannah had used the name Susanna as I found in a court case and on other documents. Never up till now could we prove what she said could be true. From Stewarts History page 955. Mr. Allison was born in Indiana county Jan. 20, 1888, son of Harvey and Susanna (Bartlebaugh) Allison. The father is a native of Jefferson county, Pa., the mother of Indiana county. Harvey Allison was engaged in farming for a number of years, and is now living retired in East Mahoning township. On Sept. 1, 1910, Mr. Allison married Fannie E. Myers, who was born Dec. 9, 1890, in Rayne township, Indiana county, daughter of Foster and Ella (Bence) Myers, who live on a farm in Rayne township; Mr. and Mrs. Myers are natives of Indiana county. Hope someone can tell me a little more about this family. Elaine
Darn about the Campbells. I already have their genealogy, done by a 2nd cousin but as they say "I hope that I will never see a finished genealogy". As far as the Clark's are concerned, I'm just doing a geenie-favor for Dude who has a few Clarks who came to Colorado and then dropped off the map; no relation to me. Thanks for writing. Howdy Linda, There is a Dr. Ryen in Indiana County today that has done pretty much the history of Indiana County Ryen/Ryans and has put it into a book form. My Grandmother was a Ryen and he did send me an abbreviated copy. His name is Allen H. Ryen and he is somewhere around Rochester Mills. His e-mail address is: _docryen@penn.com_ (mailto:docryen@penn.com) . Perhaps he can help you in your search or possibly what you have can help him in his research. Good Hunting, Bill Gibson

Hello everyone, I sent the following two e-mails over the group but they never did show up on the list they just got archived, and for those of you who are like me who don't have time to read the archives here is what you missed. If someone would like to have items such as obits or marriages, etc, etc posted out there so everyone can access them I would be happy to put them on either or both the Indiana County Gen Web and the Indiana County Archives sites or even Treasures of the Past, but in order for me to do so you have to e-mail and tell me you want them on the sites (which site(s)), without permission from the person submitting I am unable to post them to any of these sites. If you have a lot of information that you would like to share and wouldn't mind having it on either of the Indiana County sites, you can send it to me to be put up and I will go across the e-mail group and let them know that the new stuff is out there, I would even be willing to post what surnames have been added. I have updated both the Indiana County Gen Web Site and the Indiana County Archives Site. You will see some changes to the Archives as I have been re-doing the pages as I have time and new information to add to them, I am deleting one of the columns called filename as I don't feel we need information repeated since I took over the Archives I have changed all the links so that they match the names of the people, places and things that they are to correspond to, so that it is easier to keep track of what we have in information on the site. We have a new category on the Archives for Veterans information and the Census information has expanded as we have received some actual census transcripts for one of the townships in Indiana County, there have been some obits added also. I am going to be adding a "what's new" page to both of the Indiana County sites so that you will know what has been added and when. If anyone is wondering about Treasures of the Past it is back up and I hope working as I haven't had a chance to check out the links on the site as uploading it was a major task, when the site went down I was in the middle of an update and I have not finished that update as of yet, but will be working on it and will let you know when it is finished and what is new on the site. Treasures also has a new e-mail address as we lost all e-mail that had been sent prior to August 23rd. Please note there are at least two Indiana County PA cemeteries that the links will not work on Treasures at this time, they are Greenwood in White Twp, Edgewood in Conemaugh Twp and possibly Oakland in White Twp. I am planning to put these back up and have working again, but have not had a chance as of yet. For those of you who do not know it Treasures of the Past is actually a room in my home, filled with filing cabinets and all kinds of books and information just waiting to be put out there for all to see. One of my projects at this time (which I have quite a few of them for the site) is to go through all the files I have on various surnames (not necessarily ones I am researching) and put up any information that is dated up to and including 1950. We are hoping to have the early births of Indiana County completely transcribed in another week or so. Unfortunately 2004 has not been a good year for transcribing cemeteries, not only have we had rain, but I switched jobs during the middle of summer and was working two jobs for about a month, my brother-in-law was ill and we did what we could to help out until he passed away in September. We did manage to get three military stones placed and will most likely wait until next spring when the ground is thawed out and it is warmer to place one for my brother-in-law. We did start transcribing SS Simon & Jude Cemetery in Burrell Twp, Indiana Co, PA, and we are hoping to finish it in 2005. The links and e-mail addresses for these web sites are below. Did a quick look for Charles Blatt in Indiana County newspapers and in the Clearfield paper December 1918 -- listed soldiers and under severely wounded was a Lieutenant Charles R. Blatt of East Brady. In Indiana Gazette 1943 listed going in Army Charles Blatt of Indiana RD2. In 1946 he was discharged with others listed in the paper. In 1948 Charles Blatt 24 years old was in court and just happens one of mine was also in court that day I saw in the Indiana gazette . Looks like a few Blatts lived in Altoona which is Blair Co. Charles Blatts and in 1955 owned a motion picture theater in Somerset. Didn't see any articles about Ella. Maybe a clue where they lived.
