    3. from Steve Kemp. If he bought land after the formation of the county in Sept. 1787 and recorded the deed, you could find it there. If he sold land, same thing. All of the tax records exist year by year. If he was taxed for land, even if he did not record a deed or even own it outright, the record will exist. You have to know the township where the land was, and the records are not at the courthouse any longer, but at the Huntingdon County Historical Society. Orphans Court has indexes to all dockets by names including names of minor children when the entry is an action taken for them. However it is extremely rare for any woman to have either a will or a record in Orphans Court in those years because women generally owned no property except personal items.
