Since I posted that list I have found on the 1850 census for Angelica, Allegany Co., NY, people who I think are "my" Henry Shoff's parents: another Henry Shoff, b. 1799 in NY, m. Sarah Ann, b. 1810 in NY. Their children listed on the 1850 census are: Ebenezer S., b. 1827, NY, m. Honora/Homara (their children are Seymour, b. 1856, m. Rena Labour; Martha, b. 1858; Clarence, b. 1860; Nellie, b. 1867; Alonson, b. 1871; Mary, b. 1876) Thomas, b. 1830, m. possibly Emily Henry L., b. 1832, possibly in Co. E., 104th NY Inf., who I hope m. Melissa Dutton (Sutton/Button?) Sarah, b. 1839, poss m. John Blinn and if so d. 1906 and is buried in the Bolivar Cemetery Elizabeth, b. 1841 There are two other possible children of Henry and Sally Ann Shoff: William, b. 1827, NY, m. Emily, b. 1830, children: Ellinor, William H. Joel, b. 1829, NY, m. Caseandania, b. 1831, child: Charles Although I've no idea of the relationship to the above Shoffs, other Shoffs in Allegany Co. on the 1850 census are: Daniel, b. 1819, NY, m. Esther, b. 1828, NY (their children are John, b. 1847, and William C., b. 1849) They are next door to Willliam, b. 1818, NY, m. Jane A, b. 1819, no children listed. And they are next door to Jacob, b. 1790, NY, m. Hannah, b. 1790, NY. Children listed with them in 1850 are: Minerva, b. 1824, NY Rosina, b. 1825, NY Martha, b.1827, NY Israel Shafer, b. 1836, NY (possible grandchild)
