Surnames: Vandevender/Vandevander/Vandeventer/Vandevanter Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZdB.2ACI/3113 Message Board Post: A number of early settlers lived within the borders of Brady Township, prior to the Revolution, one of these early settlers was Peter Vandevender, my Great-great-great-grandfather, he lived along the Juniata, on a fine tract of meadowlands, in the locality, which became known as Vandevender's Bridge. He was of Holland descent, born in 1742, in Readington, N.J. He moving from New Jersey to Montgomery County, PA, and from there to Virginia, where he married Margaret Miller about 1782. They moved to Brady Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA. He died there in 1820. I would like to learn more about Vandevender's Bridge and it's exact location at that time.
