NANCY & other Joshua Brown & Charlotte Morris(on) researchers, I got my copy of this land warrant from the Blair County.Genealogical Society, Roller Hojeth(sp?) Memorial Library, 431 Scotch Valley Rd., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648-9697. Phone # 814-696-3492. They hint that they would appreciate donations, so you might send some money to them for making the copy if you go that route. This is the copy that I discuss in the message below. There is also a little different copy you can get from the PA State Archives in Harrisburg. I believe it was Sue Browand that sent me a copy of the one from the State Archives. It only lists Joshua Brown (I didn't see any mention of the other 2 Browns), and it doesn't appear to be as complete as the one I got from Blair county. By the way, Blair county said they have land warrants from a few other counties besides just Blair. Not all other counties, but a few of them and Bedford Co. just happens to be one of them. Anyone that wants a copy of one or both of these warrants, I do have a scanner, so I could send it to you that way. Otherwise, I can make a copy and send it to anyone who wishes. The more of us that work on this the better. We have beat our heads against the brick wall over and over with this family. We have little tidbits, but so far nothing fits together yet, as to who the parents of Joshua Brown and/or Charlotte Morris(on)? were. I think Sue Browand has worked on this line also for a long time. We would be happy to have some others help. You can probably find quite a few of our old messages in the archives for this list. I have listed several times, why the Joshua Brown in Little Brittain/Lancaster County can not be the father of our Joshua Brown. But, who is???? They do have the same naming patterns. Possibly our Joshua Brown is the son of one of the other lines from Little Brittain. I charted out quite a bit of the family from Lancaster/Chester counties. And there are a couple of males I never could find children for that could possibly be parent to our Joshua. I have this all (the Lancaster/Chester Quakers) in a GEDCOM also if anyone wants a copy of that. I went thru many of the Quaker records and every date and name I have in that GEDCOM states where I found the proof. I would be happy to help anyone who wants to seriously help research this line. Sue Browand are you still there? Have you found anything since we talked last? I have a great-uncle, Jules Renard, who had a piece of land in Bedford County.....the map I looked at seemed to have it on top of a large hill, possibly a small mountain. Any information would be deeply appreciated. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Kathy Wells [mailto:rebeltrumpet@sbcglobal.net] > Sent: Friday, April 11, 2003 9:35 PM > To: PAHUNTIN-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [PAHUNTIN] Joshua Brown, Charlotte Morris, Maddensville, > > > To all who are hunting Joshua Brown & Charlotte Morris: > > I receive my copy of the original land warrant from Bedford County Oct 31, > 1785.
