Hello Listers: I have recently located my 2nd great-grandmother in the Warriors Mark Twp. 1860 census. She is listed with her second husband, Richard HALL, and four children, two of whom were to her first husband, Patrick KELLY. Patrick KELLY, b. 1818 Co. Galway, Ireland, emigrated in 1841, arriving at the port of New York. He made his Decl. of Intent, Aug 1844, Centre Co., PA, and was naturalized one year later, Aug 1845, Centre Co., PA. Patrick and Mary Ann DOLAN, b. 1825, Co. Galway Ireland were married in the US, as Mary Ann came to America unmarried with two brothers, Martin and Thomas. This couple had two children, Patrick/Patsy, b. 1852, PA (county UNKNOWN), and my greatgrandmother, Mary Anna, b. 1854, PA (county UNKNOWN). Sometime after the birth of Mary Anna KELLY, 1854, Patrick KELLY, her father died. Mary Ann nee DOLAN KELLY married Richard HALL, ca. 1854-56, PA, as this couple's first born child was baptized Aug, 1857, St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Tyrone Twp., Blair Co. PA. Would like to determine: 1.) date/place of death and burial for my 2nd Gr-grf, Patrick KELLY. 2.) date/place of birth/baptism for his children, Patsy and Mary Anna. 3.) date/place of marriage for Mary Ann nee DOLAN KELLY and Richard HALL. Thanks so much for your time, and any help or suggestions will be most appreciated. Marybeth Corrigall ACMBJC@aol.com
Hi Marybeth, My GGgrandfather was also a Patrick Kelly, but he had shortened his name from Kilkelly when he entered the army at the start of the Civil War. He was also born in Galway, but we think that he was born in 1832 and that he was the son of Bryan Kilkelly. I believe that all of his descendents used the Kelly name, though there is one Patrick Kilkelly that I've heard of, who may be a son or nephew. I offer this information because you may run across "my" Patrick in Huntingdon or Blair counties. Also, many of my other ancestors in this line, hailed from Warriors Mark, but they were the Westons and a lot of Germans. Patrick's wife, Ann Nightwine, is buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Newry, Blair county, PA. I have not looked there for Patrick's grave, though it might also be there.
