My Norris line came from Wayne Co., OH to Hancock Co., OH and then to Fulton Co., IN. I've always been told that the Kos. Co. Norris line may be distantly related but I've made no connection, assumed to be in PA before 1800. My Wayne Co., OH Joseph Norris came there about 1814 where he first recorded land. Records say he was then a resident of nearby Richland Co., OH. Joseph married Margaret KEARNS/CARNS in Westmoreland Co., PA 1804. An 1896 Fulton Co., IN bio of Joseph's grandson, Noah Anthony Wayne Norris, says that Joseph's father was a William Norris of PA. I estimate his birth as about 1755. Same bio goes on to say the next acestor was another Joseph Norris was one of three brothers coming from Scotland...who settled first in New England. I estimate this Joseph's birth to be about 1733. I have no knowledge of any other brothers, but it seems that there may be a tie to the Hu! ntingdon Co., PA line. Any ideas or data appreciated. Also, I'd be happy to share my extensive data on the Joseph Norris line and would like to review data from others who have proven links from Huntingdon Co. to Kosciusko Co. BTW my line also includes a George Washington Norris who migrated to NE....have extensive data. This line has an old story that there is also a distant relationship to George William Norris, famous NE US Senator, born in Sandusky, OH to Chauncey Norris. Chauncey's parents are, according to the Senator's autobio, from Connecticut where they died leaving Chauncey and sisters to be moved as orphans to NY where I've found part of them in Monroe Co., NY....but that's a whole other quest!
