HI Bea... I know, it's a bit more money, but... you can submit a 10 yr. "window" request for the death certificate, asking in this case for a death period of 1920-1930. I've found 2 people in Pittsburgh this way that I'd otherwise given up on. I think the fee for this kind of DC search is $25, but I could be wrong. It's a separate downloadable form from the same site the basic DC request form comes from. This all assuming, of course, that no further information is forthcoming from your query. Good luck locating an obit or a burial record! From what I've seen posted here, I really doubt there's a Huntingdon Co. cemetery that's not been walked and transcribed. Or am I being too optimistic? David in Richmond PS.... Hope I'm not telling you something you already know. It's just a handy bail-out option when all else fails. And even at that, it's not always a guarantee of success. One woman I'd looked for in Pittsburgh was very much alive in 1900, but didn't make the 1910 census. Allegheny Co. had nothing on her prior to 1906 (the county death record cut-off), and PA had nothing on her after that. But, a later written source made reference to her as having "recently" died in 1910 (an unmarried sister had been rooming with her, and now had to apply to a Pittburgh-area home for the elderly). But, no DC from the Commonwealth of PA. And to make things doubly maddening, no cemetery record for her either. Her death year remains a question mark...hope you're luckier!
