Here are obits for 3/17/03. William Henry LANKARD Jr., 75, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at his family home in Covington, Tenn. He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Mount Union. He was united in marriage to Lola Querry Kyler of Mapteton March 11, 1947. Mrs. Lankard survives at home. He is also survived by one son, Stephen Mark Lankard of Ranier, Ore.; two granddaughters, Lola Marie Lankard of Portland, Ore, and Stephenie Marie Lankard of Longview, Wash.; and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Lankard was of the Presbyterian faith. He attended the Mount Union schools and graduated with honors in 1946. He spent 18 months with the 1st Cavalry, serving in Tokyo, Japan. His ashes will be buried in Pennsylvania at a later date, with a memorial service at that time. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mary C. ROBINSON, 98, formerly of 1422 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, died at 5:20 am. Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Epworth Manor, Tyrone, where she had resided since August 1997. Born July 8, 1904, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late William and Nettie (Johnson) Prough. She was united in marriage to Clarence E. Robinson Dec. 21, 1934, at the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, by the Rev. O.B. Paulsen. Mr. Robinson preceded her in death June 19, 1967. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank M. Prough. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. She was employed by the Susquehanna Silk Mill, Huntingdon, from 1921 to 1943. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, 1106 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, with the Rev. David L. Dearing officiating.
