Kathy, The "Signs of the Times," is an Old School or Primitive Baptist paper which began publication in 1832. It has been microfilmed from the nearly complete set at the New York City Public Library. We have it on film from 1832-1896, and in hard copy from 1897-present. We have some years in hard copy which we also have on film. It did not publish many obituaries for a few years after it started, so it is very unlikely that the obituary of Joshua Brown who died in 1832 would be included. I wish I knew about the records of the Springfield church, but I don't. I am hoping someone will share with me a photo of the church building, or other information about Old School Baptists in the county. I will do a little more digging myself, and if I come up with anything I will post it on the forum.
