From other researchers I have : George MATTERN( vs sp) son of Hans Adtam MATTER. Lived in Lancaster County, Penn., for about a year after their marriage. In 1765 they moved to the new community of Elizabethtown, Maryland. Elizabethtown was shortly there after renamed Hagerstown, Maryland. In 1779 or 1780 George bought 300 Acres of wild land in Franklin Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania and sent his three sons there to build a log cabin. In 1780 he secured the deed to the land, and in the spring of 1781 his family packed their wagons and moved from Maryland to their new home in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. The cabin stood near where afterwards was the "Seven Stars" Church. The building was a large log house used as a Tavern for many years. It was demolished in 1866. They lived and died in Franklin Township - they had ten children and most of them are buried there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My question: Was George MATTER and wife Anna who had son Adam born 1817 in Mannheim Township from this line?
