According to Nancy Shedd's book SECOND CENTURY, the name of the post office at present day Petersburg, Penna. 16669 was "Shavers Creek," during the years 1824-74. The whole valley going northeast out of Petersburg as far as the Pine Swamp area across Tussey Mountain from Pine Grove Mills is Shavers Creek Valley. Steve Kemp
