I know that's a long time span but if anyone could shed some light on this then I'd be most grateful.>> Melissa, Shaver's Creek, Shaver's Creek Valley, and Shaver's Creek Manor are mentioned several times in Retrospect Publishing's CD, "Juniata Valley-History" by Jordan. There is one story told in it of a Peter Shaver who had been engaged in trade with the indians for several years and had settled at the mouth of Shaver's Creek believed to be in the spring of 1754. Some years later his body was found without the head, but the cause was not ascertained. Patti
