Hi Steve, That is my concern. It has been posted to many family web sites such as on ancestry.com , family treemaker and rootsweb and others are adding the information to their material and it is spreading as others come upon it. I have never found a source saying that Samuel Pheasant who arrived to Maryland from England ,husband of Elizabeth Eastep/Estep, had the middle name of James. Even what material was sent from Maryland, on his service in the Rev War, does not mention Samuels name being Samuel James Pheasant. I do not know who started this and that is why the posting in hopes who ever started the adding of James to the name, to make it Samuel James Pheasant , might see the query and be able to clear this up.
