"HUNTINGDON -- Harriet Catherine McCall, 94, of 120 Aspen Lane and former of Hesston, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, in J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born July 18, 1908, in Penn Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Emanuel and Catharine Widner Norris. For more than 80 years, she was a member of Jacob's Church, Hesston, where she was a Sunday school teacher and active in the Ladies' Aid Society. She attended Penn Township public schools. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and flowers, often providing flowers for the church. She also enjoyed studying genealogy and her family history. Her husband, Glenn M. McCall, whom she married Dec. 14, 1934, in Huntingdon, died Sept. 12, 1972. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Olive E. Garner; and four brothers, Hiram J. Norris, Philip C. Norris. William H. Norris and Chalmer E. Norris. Surviving are a son, Ronald M. (husband of Dorothy J.) of Shippensburg; a daughter, Ruby J. Shearburn of Hesston; three grandchildren; two brothers, Donald E. Norris of Everett and Homer S. Norris of Huntingdon; and a sister, Lilian M. Hurley of Petersburg. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Jacob's Church, Hesston, with the Rev. H. Lloy Blattenberger officiating. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery, Hesston. Memorial contributions may be made to Jacob's Church, P.O. Box 90, Hesston 16647."
