I've been on the list for a couple of months now observing and am very impressed with the comraderie on this list. I would like to take a moment to introduce the names I am researching in Huntingdon County in hopes of finding a connection or direction as to were to obtain information. Samuel George Dysard b. 1841 d. 1918, Huntingdon Co., PA m. Mary Jane Black b. b. 1845 d. 1914, Huntingdon Co. PA I'm trying to find the parents of Samuel George and the father of Mary Jane. According to his obituary, Samuel George came to this country as a child of about 5-6 with his parents from Germany. According to his Civil War pension file, he was raised from the age of 5-6 by a man named George Numer who stated in his affadavit that he was "in no way related to the claimant". He is living with George Numer and his family in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County in the 1860 Census. According to Huntingdon County Tax lists, George Numer came to Huntingdon County from Cumberland County in @1852 when Samuel George was @11 years old. Mary Jane was raised as the daughter of Robert and Susannah(Unknown) Black. She is with living with them in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County in the 1860 Census. According to her death certificate her father's name was Detweiler. It is speculated that Susannah was a Detweiler and Mary was born out of wedlock. At any rate Robert Black raised her as his own and she used his last name so it is also speculated that he adopted her. Samuel G. and Mary Jane are my 3rd great grandparents and my brick wall. s/o Samuel George and Mary Jane(Black) Dysard Samuel Edward "Ed" Dysard b. 1875, Henderson Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, d. 1959, Jackson Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, married Caroline Jane "Callie" (Ankney) Cogley b. 1873, Cook Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA, d. 1956, Huntingdon Co., PA "Callie" was married twice, 1---George Grant Cogley b. 1865, Belleville, Mifflin Co., PA d. 1900, Winslow, IL.
