    3. from Steve Kemp. I checked the transcription of county birth records from the mid-19th century which is at the HCHS library. The two years that appear in the record are 1852 and 1853, and for those years only 31 total birth records were placed on record. In the same transcription there are also a similar small number of marriage and death records. The law that had these records being created from 1852, was repealed, and for more than 40 years no birth and death records were made. This information may be of interest to a few people who are looking up vital records from 1852 or 1853 and aren't aware of this short-lived source.
