    3. Yes the book is as you say, but even more, the book contains stories of families and what it was like for them in the early days. The book contains over a 100 names and some great pictures, the book may have been a poor seller when it was first published but I do not think there were as many people in to researching as we have today. The price they are trying to sale the book is too high and I believe they know this and they are considering changing that, All in all the book make for very interesting reading and hold a great deal of information. He wrote a weekly article for the HUNTINGDON DAILY NEWS in the 1950s and 1960s. The two volumes published by the county historical society are reprints of some of his articles, not grouped by subject, but in chronological order as they appeared in the paper. They were poor sellers. Rung was interested in pioneer days, iron furnaces, the canal and the railroads, early buildings and persons of historical note. ==== PAHUNTIN Mailing List ==== Visit the Huntingdon county PaGenWeb site at http://www.rootsweb.com/~pahuntin for information on county resources, cemeteries and other research information. ============================== Search the US Census Collection.
