H. R. Grove Alexandria, Pa. Druggist: Was born at Grafton, Pa., March 23, 1880, now called Hesston. A son of Andrew F. Grove, who was a school teacher, merchant, and surveyor, now deceased, aged fifty-four years. He married Annie E. Sprankle; she is deceased. H.R. Grove received his early schooling at Grafton, Pa., entered the Alexandria High School, and graduated in the class of 1897. Entered the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, and graduated in the class of 1902. He established the first drug store in Alexandria, Pa., in 1903, carrying a full line of drugs, cosmetics, etc.; fills prescriptions. He has been President of the Borough Council for twenty years. Belongs to the Reformed Church; his wife also. He is church treasurer. During the World War was engaged in drug business. A Republican. Belongs to the I.O.O.F., No. 286, Alexandria, Pa.; also the Harry's Valley Rod and Gun Club, Neff's Mills, Huntingdon, Pa. He was married to Mae J. Piper, a daughter of P.H. and Annie Piper, a merchan! t of Alexandria, Pa. H. R. Grove is a representative citizen of Alexandria, is interested in all that pertains to the growth and well being of Alexandria, and ready at all times to lend a hand towards its betterment.
