Hello Folks: I had heard through the grapevine that the court house in Huntingdon had burnt and most of the records were destroyed.... is this true? I know this has been told of several other county court houses and it's simply not true for them..... just checkin'. Are there Delayed Birth Registers at the courthouse or the local historical society? Donna Heller Zinn of Newville, Cumberland Co., PA.
Donna, I haven't heard that one. I would like to know as well. I also would like to know where I could find a death for a person who died in 1893........was it required to register deaths prior 1905 ? When did Huntingdon County start ? ALSO.........when one died ....was it required by the funeral homes to have their burial records kept ? Where would these be located ? Does the county have any copies of the Funeral / Burial records ? I hope I am wording this all right ...
